Fun Facts on Skin Care + Treatments
The Fitzpatrick Scale
The system classifies skin type according to the amount of pigment your skin has and your skin’s reaction to sun exposure. This is helpful when deciding what treatments will best suit your skin.

1: very pale white skin, often with green or blue eyes and fair or red hair, burns without tanning.
2: white skin, often with blue eyes, burns and does not tan easily
3: fair skin with brown eyes and brown hair, burns first then tans
4: light brown skin, dark eyes, and dark hair, burns a little and tans easily
5: brown skin, dark eyes, and dark hair, easily tans to a darker color and rarely burns
6: dark brown or black skin, dark eyes, and dark hair, never burns but tans darker
Why it's important in laser treatments...
With lasers, it's crucial to understand skin type, and MD Beauty will help you do so. In Halo/BBL, we a non-ablative laser, combined with an ablative laser to create controlled zones of coagulation to chosen depths into the dermis that stimulate new collagen, and fractionally vaporize (ablate) microlaser channels into the epidermis; addressing tone and texture of the skin. This type of laser treatment offers less downtime than others. This type of treatment is ideal for most skin types on the scale, but we will work with the client to decide their candidacy.
